Alexei Vladishev is a creator and developer of the enterprise-class open source distributed monitoring solution ZABBIX and founder and CEO of Zabbix SIA, the company providing a complete package of ZABBIX-related services. The origin of the company is a true success story. When working for a major Latvian bank as a system administrator Alexei Vladishev realized that all available commercial monitoring tools are expensive and require advanced skills to handle. He then came up with an idea for creating a monitoring system himself. As a result, for the first time ZABBIX was publicly released in 2001 and currently is one of the most popular open source monitoring solutions.

Today, ZABBIX has a world-renown, simple, yet very flexible notification mechanism, and a Web interface that allows quick and easy administration. It can be used for logging, monitoring, capacity planning, availability and performance measurement, and providing the latest information to a helpdesk.
