Salesforce ChatterExchange’s Top Seller – SalesView

Already things are getting competitive over on the ChatterExchange, the AppExchange division for the newly released Salesforce Chatter. InsideView’s application, SalesView, is currently the most popular, as well as the highest rated, download available from the ChatterExchange. Chatter was released to the public earlier this week with about 60 additional apps available online.

SalesView is an add-on to Chatter that gives live sales intelligence on leads and prospective clients. It aggregates pertinent business news alerts and other sales information from social networking sites (such as Facebook and Twitter) as well as traditional news sources. All information is provided from within the Chatter network.

With Salesforce Chatter’s public release, we will now see whether the application can live up to its beta testing hype. ChatterExchange is a major component of Salesforce’s networking solution; this open-ended market of web tools makes customization easier. Salesforce doesn’t have to overload each user with tons of applications upon sign-up, and future needs can be met by the innovations of other software producers.

SalesView is an award-winning application that has been available since March 2008. Along with Salesforce Chatter, SalesView can also integrate with CRM products from providers such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Netsuite, SugarCRM, and Landslide Technologies.

InsideView is a Sales 2.0 software provider that utilizes sales intelligence from social media and traditional new sources alike. The company has been based in San Francisco, California, since 2005, and serves 270,000 customers globally.

Salesforce Announces Cloudforce 2010: Cloud 2 Mania

Salesforce.com announced the largest cloud computing conference of the year, Cloudforce 2010. It is to be held on June 22nd, 2010 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, CA.

Focus will be on what is thought of as Cloud 2 – the next generation of collaborative, real-time, mobile cloud computing. Top technology leaders such as BMC, CA, Dell, and VMware (as well as many surprise guests) will participate in a forum to present the new economic developments of Cloud 2. All told, more than 35 industry leaders will join Salesforce.com at the event to discuss the future of the cloud computing industry.

The event held for customers and developers alike will allow attendees to meet with Salesforce.com product teams, hear from experts at leading customer companies, get hands-on training, and learn strategies for social enterprise collaboration success.

Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, will give a keynote speech at 10 a.m., Pacific Time. It will be followed by 18 expert-led breakout sessions. Benioff’s keynote will also be available on the salesforce.com website in video or audiocast.

A highlight of the event will be Salesforce.com’s announcement of its premier Cloud 2 product, Salesforce Chatter. Chatter will be made available globally during the event.

Chatter represents a new way to communicate with work associates. Business CEOS and employees will be connected in a social network akin to Facebook with profile pages, status updates, groups, and live feeds. Chatter can also integrate with other social networks operating in the cloud, such as Twitter and Youtube. Private beta testers have given the Salesforce product much acclaim in the past few months. The rest of us will just have to wait and see if business collaboration really can “work as easily as Facebook.”

Salesforce.com will host a Chatter DevZone so developers can gain insight into building Cloud 2 apps with Chatter. They will be able to obtain a Chatter workbook and cheat sheet. Salesforce will also host a Chatter Hackathon to challenge the attendees.

Many other Cloud leaders will also present their innovations at the conference. Showcase companies will include: 7 Degrees, Accenture, AppExtremes, Appirio, AvePoint, Big Machines, Birst, Bluewolf, BMC, CA, Cast Iron, Cloud 9, Comity Designs, Contactual, Deloitte, DocuSign, EchoSign, EDL Consulting, Eloqua, FinancialForce, inContact, Informatica, InsideView, JPW Consulting, Marketo, Mindjet, Model Metrics, Ping Identity, Ribbit, Sertifi, ServiceMax, Silverpop, Steel Brick, Symplified, Xactly, and others.

Cloudforce 2010 is free with prior registration.

Jive Software: Social Business Software Success

Things are looking good for Jive Software, the popular Social Business Software (SBS) Company, as they announced that their Quarter 1 revenues are 35% higher than Quarter 1 2009.

Is Jive’s first quarter success a forecast for the rest of the year? In Quarter 1 of 2010, Jive acquired multiple client contracts, their largest customer base to date and more new business than in any other period.

Whatever the reason for Jive Software’s Quarter 1 success, it is abundantly clear that social business software is currently relevant and in high demand. New CEO to Jive, Tony Zingale, explains that “Investing in Social Business Software has never been a question of if, but when, and that time is now. This market is growing quickly because leading brands are making significant investments in how they engage more effectively with customers and employees”.

Enterprises are turning to SBS providers, like Jive, in order to optimize employee and customer relations. Companies that take advantage of SBS believe that collaboration and community are prevalent ways to inspire innovation in the business development process. This strategy makes plenty of sense; have the people that drive your success, drive the product’s direction.

Buzz Blog is excited to see what the rest of the year will bring, as SBS technology is still being defined and shaped. As for Jive Software, we’re excited to see the promised real time social media monitoring feature for their Marketing Engagement Solution. The company announced that the new update will be coming to a platform near you, sometime this year. Stay tuned!
