About Visual COBOL

Visual COBOL is application development software available in two editions – Visual Studio or Eclipse. The platform is equipped with a fully featured COBOL editor and integrated COBOL debugging tools, mixed-language support for C/C++, C#, VB.NET and Java, and complies COBOL applications directly in Microsoft intermediate language in order to facilitate deployment with Microsoft .NET.

The software provides users with a native code generator for multiple platforms including Windows, Linux on Intel, Linux on Power, Linux on z systems, AIX, Solaris and HP-UX. Additionally, the platform provides RDBMS support for Oracle, Microsoft, IBM and open source databases such as PostgreSQL, supports virtualized and cloud environments such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure SDK, and is equipped with a set of advanced diagnostics tools.
