How many EMR software vendors are there, and what is your forecast on how many will fail when the MU incentives run their course?
While the meaningful use (MU) measure has definitely helped grow this segment (estimates say adoption has doubled among health care providers), EMR software in and of itself is considered to be a must-have by many in this digital day and age. So once the MU incentive runs out, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a drop, but it may not necessarily be disastrous. Some EMR software vendors see the MU measure as a way to kick-start their market segment, which will continue to grow (through word of mouth, for instance) even after the MU incentive ends.
