Another alternative for mid-sized Companies is Microsoft Dynamics GP. It's available as a Partner-hosted option and has very deep functionality for Professional Services organizations as well as manufacturing and distribution. Pricing is very straightforward as well. Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) has far more robust accounting functions and reporting capabilities than Quickbooks. Many of the companies that Purchase (or nowadays go "Cloud" with Dynamics GP) are upgrading from Quickbooks.
