For Australian product businesses on Xero or MYOB, the shortlist is short — and the real fork is standalone inventory tool versus full ERP.
The ANZ angle matters more in this category than most: Cin7 and Unleashed were both born in this region, so local tax handling, Xero integration depth and support hours are strengths rather than afterthoughts.

Pricing verified 7 August 2026, ex GST. Standalone tools price per account or tier; the last four price per user because they’re ERP-class systems that replace your accounting file.
This is the fork that decides everything else, and no vendor will frame it neutrally for you.
Stay in the add-on lane (Cin7, Unleashed, Katana, Fishbowl) if Xero or MYOB still handles your finances comfortably and your pain is purely operational: stock accuracy, purchasing, order workflows. You’ll be live in weeks for a few hundred dollars a month, and your accountant keeps the ledger they know.
Skip to ERP (Business Central, MYOB Acumatica, NetSuite, or Odoo built out fully) if any of these are true: you’re consolidating multiple entities; you need landed costs flowing into the general ledger automatically; B2B customers need account-specific pricing at meaningful scale; or the add-on stack itself has become the thing that breaks. Duct-taping a fourth app onto Xero costs less per month than an ERP and more per year in reconciliation hours.
A reliable tell: when the operations manager and the bookkeeper are arguing about whose numbers are right, you’re usually six to twelve months past the point where the add-on lane made sense.
The former DEAR Systems, now Cin7’s SMB product. Purchasing, assembly, multi-warehouse, a B2B portal and solid AU tax handling at a price point nothing with comparable depth matches. The Xero integration posts journals, COGS and tax codes properly rather than dumping nightly summaries. Watch out: the depth brings configuration complexity, so budget for a proper implementation even though it’s “just an add-on”. Support is ticket-first.
Auckland-born, now part of The Access Group, and still the cleanest pure wholesale workflow in ANZ: sales orders, batch and expiry tracking, serial numbers, a good B2B store. Australian food, beverage and health brands use it heavily. Watch out: manufacturing beyond light assembly is thin, and per-user pricing climbs as the team grows.
If you make things (food, cosmetics, furniture, fabrication), Katana’s visual production board, BOMs and floor-level tracking beat the wholesale-first tools, at a fraction of ERP cost. The Xero integration is native and tidy. Watch out: distribution features like EDI, 3PL and advanced B2B aren’t its game. Outgrow the shop floor and you’re shopping again.
The heavier Cin7 product: retail POS, marketplace connectors, and one of the better EDI capabilities short of an ERP. That matters if you’re supplying Coles, Woolworths or Bunnings, who will hand you EDI requirements whether you like them or not. Watch out: pricing and implementation are a step-change up from Core, so make sure the big-retailer contracts justify it.
Business Central, MYOB Acumatica and NetSuite each fold inventory into the ledger properly: landed costs, multi-entity, warehouse scanning through add-ons or native modules. If the fork above pointed you here, start with our Australian ERP comparison rather than forcing an add-on to do an ERP’s job.

Published pricing was checked on each vendor’s site on 7–8 August 2026 (Unleashed publishes AUD; Cin7 Core and Katana publish USD, converted at the prevailing rate; Cin7 Omni and Fishbowl’s Advanced tiers are quote-only). Integration depth comes from vendor documentation and app-store listings. Review figures cited on this page were counted on G2, Capterra and GetApp on 8 August 2026. First-year ranges are editorial estimates combining published subscriptions with partner-reported onboarding costs. No vendor sponsored or reviewed this page.
Cin7 Core for most wholesalers on Xero or MYOB, Unleashed for clean B2B wholesale workflows, Katana for small manufacturers, and Cin7 Omni for multi-channel retail with EDI. Multi-entity or heavily integrated operations are usually better served by an ERP.
Cin7 Core, Unleashed and Katana all have deep native Xero integrations that post journals, COGS and AU tax codes rather than summary dumps. Test your own GST scenarios in a trial before committing.
Roughly A$300–1,000+ per month ex GST for standalone platforms, depending on tier and users. ERP-class alternatives price per user and cost more overall, but they replace the accounting file rather than bolting onto it.
If Xero or MYOB still handles your finances well and the pain is operational, an add-on tool is faster and cheaper. If you’re consolidating entities, need landed costs in the ledger, or the add-on stack itself has become the problem, it’s ERP time.
Unleashed has the cleaner pure-wholesale workflow and B2B experience. Cin7 Core has more features per dollar and stronger manufacturing. Wholesale-only operations lean Unleashed; mixed operations lean Cin7 Core.
