PDXpert is available as either perpetual or subscription-based licensing, and users can be assigned a flexible full-function or low-cost read-only account. Subscriptions provide cash conservation to smaller companies, while perpetual licensing offers the lowest cost over time.
PDXpert is architected to support remote connections across the internet, and even includes its own zero-setup VPN using highly secure “forward secrecy”. We think keeping proprietary design data on the LAN or a private hosting service is the most practical approach for companies without substantial IT resources.
A typical customer is between one and several hundred users, and designs complex engineered products: electronics, machinery, aerospace/defense, transportation, medical devices, formulations, CPG and similar industries.
While Active Sensing’s PDXpert offers standard PLM software functions — part/BOM management, approved suppliers, document/file revision control, engineering change workflow, etc. –, the vendor’s focus is on small- and mid-sized companies. These companies have significant constraints on IT resources, staff to manage their data, admin/user training, best practices knowledge, and software budgets. PDXpert addresses these points with simple “hands-off” installation, a flexible pre-configured database, built-in tools for importing legacy data, extensive web-based training, and highly-rated technical support. PDXpert provides all of this at the lowest cost of any full-featured PLM software.
Active Sensing, Inc. was founded nearly 20 years ago as an electronic instrumentation developer for the process control industry. They have since evolved from the development of product data management (PDM) to product lifecycle management (PLM).
