The program starts out by analyzing all purchasing data and putting it through a number of BI tools and models. Users can then determine which types of items they should be procuring, search for them through a supplier database and view finalized cost proposals.

If users come to an agreement with a supplier, the system can finalize a contract and store it for future reference. The product can monitor all suppliers for performance issues, and users can continue to find ways to offload risk and save money. Lastly, Ariba Spend Management can enforce compliance with industry standards during all supply chain transactions.
