Sybase Releases SQL Anywhere 12 Database with iPhone Support
Sybase released a new update to SQL Anywhere 12 that allows users to update SQL databases from their smart phone. SQL Anywhere 12 is available for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and iPhone devices. Sybase inclusion of the iPhone is a great step towards more adaptation of applications for the iphone.
A key focus of SQL Anywhere 12 is support for large scale data synchronization. Mobile synchronization is a major feature, allowing field reps to synchronize data with the on premise systems. Sybase included new tools to help companies monitor and troubleshoot sync implementations. Simulations of sync operations can be run to check for problems before sending mass amounts of data to the host servers.
