Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Pricing: Power of Us Licenses, Editions and Real Implementation Costs

Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Pricing: Power of Us Licenses, Editions and Real Implementation Costs

Last updated: October 12, 2026 · Independent buyer’s guide · We do not sell rankings or coverage.

Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud pricing starts at $70 per user per month for the Sales & Service Core edition and rises to $125 for Advanced and $285 for the Sales Max and Service Max editions, all billed annually on an annual contract (Salesforce, checked October 12, 2026). Eligible nonprofits receive 10 Core licenses at no cost through the Power of Us program. For most organizations the larger costs are the implementation partner, data migration, ongoing administration and the fundraising apps you add on top.

How the Power of Us program works

Salesforce’s pricing page states that any eligible nonprofit “receives 10 Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Core licenses, at no cost,” and that additional licenses are discounted for eligible nonprofits. It also says Premier Success is activated when the nonprofit makes its first paid purchase (Salesforce, checked October 12, 2026).

The Power of Us application article on Salesforce Help adds the terms that matter for budgeting. You choose either 10 Agentforce Nonprofit Enterprise Edition licenses (formerly Nonprofit Cloud) or 10 Sales and Service Enterprise Edition licenses. The donated licenses do not expire but remain subject to Salesforce’s Master Subscription Agreement, and Salesforce generally provides one donation per Employer Identification Number (Salesforce Help, April 27, 2026). The two Salesforce pages name the edition differently, so confirm in the portal which edition your grant activates.

US applicants need a Tax ID and a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determination letter. Salesforce notes that future purchases may be subject to state or local sales tax unless you upload an exemption certificate (Salesforce Power of Us page, checked October 12, 2026).

What changed from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud

The Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is a set of managed packages installed on a Salesforce org, and for years it ran on the free Power of Us licenses. Salesforce says NPSP “will continue to be supported” and recommends Nonprofit Cloud for new customers of its program and grants modules (Salesforce, no date shown). Salesforce Ben reports that Salesforce ended innovation on NPSP in March 2023, that no migration is required, and that new orgs receiving donated licenses are no longer offered a fully configured NPSP instance (Salesforce Ben, February 18, 2026).

The move is a new implementation, not an upgrade. Nonprofit Cloud represents individuals with person accounts, which Salesforce’s own training describes as “a significant change from the NPSP data model” (Trailhead, no date shown). Gifts are stored in new fundraising objects such as GiftCommitment, which is available only when the Fundraising Access license is enabled (Salesforce Developers, Winter ’27 guide).

Pricing changed too. Salesforce’s earlier pricing guide (copyright 2024) listed Nonprofit Cloud Enterprise at $60 and Unlimited at $100 per user per month, with Premier Success sold at 30% of net license fees (Salesforce pricing guide, 2024). The current page lists Core at $70 and Advanced at $125 with Premier Success included.

What drives your Salesforce cost

Paid users beyond 10. Each Core user after the first 10 costs up to $840 a year at list price.

Edition choice. Sandbox, backup and archive are bundled only from Advanced upward; on Core, Backup & Recovery and Archive are listed as “available for purchase.” Core includes 20 MB of data storage per user against 1 GB per user on Advanced.

AI usage. Agentforce is metered in Flex Credits. Salesforce’s commercial Agentforce pricing lists Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits, with its examples showing 20 credits per standard action, and $2 per conversation as an alternative (Salesforce Agentforce pricing, checked October 12, 2026). As an illustration, the 500,000 credits bundled with Core would cover about 25,000 standard actions a year at that rate.

Other clouds. Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud are contact-for-pricing on the nonprofit page. The commercial list price for Marketing Cloud Next is $1,500 per org per month for Growth and $3,250 for Advanced, billed annually (Salesforce Marketing Cloud pricing, checked October 12, 2026).

Hidden and extra costs

Implementation partners

Salesforce does not publish implementation fees, and its Power of Us page recommends identifying a system administrator and a consulting partner before you apply. MagicFuse, a Salesforce partner that sells implementation services, gives year-one ranges of $15,000 to $40,000 for a small organization, $30,000 to $80,000 for a mid-size one and $80,000 to $150,000 or more for a complex multi-program build. It cites partner rates of $150 to $300 an hour and adds 10% to 15% for training and change management (MagicFuse, updated October 2, 2026). Treat these as one seller’s estimates.

Data migration and ongoing administration

Moving from NPSP, Raiser’s Edge NXT or a spreadsheet means mapping households, soft credits and recurring gifts into the person-account model, and none of the sources we reviewed publishes a price for that work. Our guide to Raiser’s Edge NXT alternatives covers what a donor data migration involves. After launch, someone has to run the system: the same MagicFuse article puts managed services at $1,500 to $5,000 per month and an in-house administrator at $55,000 to $85,000 a year in salary.

Payments and fundraising apps

Salesforce retired its Elevate payments product; it stopped renewals on October 1, 2023 and expected deactivation on or after October 1, 2024 (Salesforce Help). The nonprofit pricing page tells you to talk to sales about payment options, so plan for a third-party giving platform. Each adds its own fees:

  • Classy (GoFundMe Pro): custom pricing that combines an annual subscription with a transaction fee per donation; Salesforce integration is an optional add-on at an additional fee (GoFundMe Pro, checked October 12, 2026).
  • Chariot: DAFpay is free to activate with a 2.9% fee per donation; custom form components cost $199 per month plus the 2.9% fee, billed annually (Chariot, checked October 12, 2026).
  • iWave (Kindsight): prospect research starts at $4,500 for one user and $5,800 for three users; the page does not state the billing period. Premium, which includes one CRM integration or API access, is priced on request (Kindsight, checked October 12, 2026).

Total cost compared with Bloomerang, DonorPerfect and Virtuous

The table below is an illustration for a nonprofit with 15 staff users. It uses list prices and the MagicFuse ranges above; it is not a quote. Bloomerang and DonorPerfect do not publish implementation fees, and Virtuous publishes no prices at all.

Year-one cost item (illustration) Salesforce Core Bloomerang Giving Platform DonorPerfect
Licenses for 15 users 10 free + 5 × $840 = $4,200 From $2,904 (unlimited users) From $1,188
Implementation $15,000 to $40,000 (partner estimate, small org) Not published Not published
Ongoing administration $18,000 to $60,000 managed services, or a staff admin No published fee No published fee
Online giving Third-party app subscription and fees Fundraising module included in bundle Online giving included; rates not published

Salesforce licenses can be the cheapest line in the budget, while the services needed to configure and run the platform cost several times more than a purpose-built donor CRM’s subscription in this illustration. Bloomerang’s starting prices also rise with record count, and DonorPerfect quotes are based on your needs, so confirm the price at your database size. Our donor management software guide compares those products feature by feature.

How to compare quotes

  • Ask Salesforce for the Power of Us discount on additional licenses as a written percentage, and check the renewal terms on the annual contract.
  • Ask partners for fixed-scope quotes that separate configuration, data migration, integrations, training and post-launch support.
  • Price your payment processor, matching gift tool and prospect research tool alongside the CRM, including per-donation fees at your expected giving volume.
  • Build a three-year view, since Salesforce’s cost is front-loaded with implementation.

Vendor profiles

Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud

Salesforce is the most configurable option here, with fundraising, programs, volunteers, grantmaking, AI and a large partner and app network on one platform. The limitations are the need for a partner or skilled administrator and the add-on pricing for marketing, payments and portals. If you are weighing it against a general CRM, see our Salesforce vs HubSpot comparison.

Bloomerang

Bloomerang publishes starting prices and includes unlimited users on every plan, which suits organizations with many part-time users. Pricing scales with records, and its Fundraising module must be bought with the CRM.

DonorPerfect

DonorPerfect publishes a starting price of $99 per month for its fundraising suites but does not say which of its Core, Plus and Pro plans that price applies to. It does not publish per-plan prices, user counts, record limits or onboarding fees, so you need a quote to compare it fairly.

Virtuous

Virtuous offers unlimited users and positions its Platform plan for nonprofits raising up to $5 million a year and Enterprise for those above it. It publishes no prices or implementation fees.

How we researched this

We read each vendor’s pricing page on October 12, 2026 and used Salesforce Help, Trailhead and developer documentation for the Power of Us terms and the NPSP changes. We reviewed the pages that currently rank for this search, including Salesforce’s pricing page, two MagicFuse cost guides and CostBench. We left out any figure we could not trace to a dated, public source, and we name sources that sell services.

Frequently asked questions

Is Salesforce free for nonprofits?

Eligible nonprofits get 10 Core licenses at no cost through the Power of Us program, and the donated licenses do not expire. You pay for additional users, add-ons, implementation and administration, and those services are usually the largest cost.

How much does Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud cost per user?

As of October 12, 2026, Salesforce lists $70 per user per month for Core, $125 for Advanced and $285 for Sales Max or Service Max, billed annually. Eligible nonprofits receive a discount on licenses beyond the first 10, but Salesforce does not publish the percentage.

Do I have to move from NPSP to Nonprofit Cloud?

No. Salesforce says NPSP will continue to be supported, but it no longer receives new features. Moving is a reimplementation into a different data model, so budget for it as a new project.

Is Salesforce cheaper than Bloomerang or DonorPerfect?

On licenses alone, a team of 10 or fewer can pay less on Salesforce. Once you add implementation, administration and a giving platform, our illustration shows Salesforce costing more in the first year than Bloomerang or DonorPerfect, whose published starting prices are $242 and $99 per month.

Does Salesforce handle online donations and payments?

Salesforce retired its Elevate payments product, and the nonprofit pricing page directs you to sales for payment options. You will usually add a giving platform such as Classy, which charges a subscription plus a per-donation fee.
