NetSuite Integration Options: SuiteTalk, RESTlets, iPaaS and Prebuilt Connectors Compared

NetSuite Integration Options: SuiteTalk, RESTlets, iPaaS and Prebuilt Connectors Compared

Last updated: November 3, 2026 · Independent buyer’s guide · We do not sell rankings or coverage.

NetSuite integration can be built five ways: native SuiteTalk REST or SOAP web services, custom RESTlets, scheduled CSV imports, an iPaaS such as Celigo, Boomi or Workato, or a prebuilt connector for one specific app. The right choice depends less on features than on three things you control: how many concurrent requests your NetSuite account allows, who will maintain the integration after go-live, and whether the pricing model fits your data volume. If you are starting a new custom integration in 2026, Oracle says it should use REST web services, because SOAP is scheduled for removal in the 2028.2 release.

Key takeaways

  • Every SOAP, REST and RESTlet integration shares one account-wide concurrency limit, which starts at 5 on the Standard service tier and rises by 10 for each SuiteCloud Plus license.
  • Oracle’s documentation says 2025.2 is the last planned SOAP endpoint and that existing SOAP integrations stop working with the 2028.2 release. Ask any connector vendor which API its NetSuite adapter uses.
  • CSV imports are included with NetSuite and need no developer, but they are batch-only and capped at 25,000 records per file.
  • Celigo and Workato do not publish dollar prices. Boomi publishes a pay-as-you-go rate of $0.05 per message, and Zapier lists NetSuite as a premium app on paid plans starting at $19.99 a month.
  • Budget for maintenance as well as the build. Custom RESTlets need a SuiteScript developer for every new field or source-app change.

How NetSuite integration works

Every integration reaches NetSuite through a few doors. SuiteTalk SOAP and REST web services are Oracle’s native APIs. RESTlets are SuiteScript endpoints you deploy in your own account. The CSV Import Assistant loads flat files. iPaaS tools and prebuilt connectors use one of these on your behalf rather than adding a new door.

When a Celigo flow, a Boomi process and your own RESTlet all run at 2 a.m., they draw on the same concurrency pool. Oracle’s documentation states that “the concurrency limits that apply to SOAP and REST web services and RESTlets are unified” (Oracle NetSuite Help, no date shown). This guide stays at the buying level.

Governance limits you will hit first

The account concurrency limit is the base limit for your service tier plus 10 for each SuiteCloud Plus license. For contracts signed after June 2020, the base is 5 on Standard, 15 on Premium and 20 on Enterprise and Ultimate. Development and partner accounts stay at 5 regardless of licenses (Oracle NetSuite Help, no date shown). Oracle does not publish a list price for SuiteCloud Plus, so you will need a quote from your account manager.

Script-level limits apply as well. A RESTlet can use 5,000 usage units per execution, a scheduled script 10,000 and a user event script 1,000 (Oracle, no date shown). RESTlet input and output are guaranteed up to 10MB per string (Oracle, no date shown). CSV imports are limited to 25,000 records per uploaded file (Oracle, no date shown).

Where NetSuite integrations go wrong

Concurrency collisions. Integrations tested one at a time overlap in production, often at month-end, and requests start failing with concurrency errors. Oracle offers a Concurrency Limit per Integration setting under Setup > Integration > Integration Management > Integration Governance to reserve capacity for one integration, though it says a single account-wide limit without per-integration limits is the best practice (Oracle, no date shown).

Building on SOAP in 2026. Oracle’s versioning documentation states that with the 2027.1 release only the 2025.2 SOAP endpoint will be supported, and that “with the 2028.2 release, SOAP will no longer be available in NetSuite and existing SOAP integrations with NetSuite will stop working” (Oracle NetSuite Help, no date shown). Some tools offer both SOAP and REST NetSuite adapters. Workato documents a NetSuite SOAP connector and refers to a separate NetSuite REST connector, so the connector you pick decides your exposure (Workato Docs, no date shown).

No owner after go-live. A consultant writes a RESTlet, the project closes, and two years later a new custom field or a Shopify API change breaks the flow. An iPaaS or connector moves much of that upkeep to the vendor.

Silent failures. CSV imports and simple automations fail one row at a time. Unless someone reviews the import job status or an error log, unposted invoices or missing vendor bills surface only at reconciliation.

How each integration option handles the work

SuiteTalk REST and SOAP web services

These are Oracle’s native APIs and need no server-side code. Oracle says to “use REST web services for system-to-system integrations,” that REST supports token-based authentication and OAuth 2.0, and that REST supports SuiteQL, which SOAP does not (Oracle NetSuite Help, no date shown). Oracle charges no separate API fee beyond your subscription and any SuiteCloud Plus licenses. The limitation is that you still need a developer, hosting for the calling application, and your own logging, retry and alerting.

RESTlets

A RESTlet is a custom endpoint written in SuiteScript and deployed in your account. Oracle notes that you can build a RESTlet “to handle all actions for a business flow in one call,” which can cut the number of requests and the concurrency you use. The trade-off is that you own the code, so every new field or process change is a development task. Some iPaaS vendors install RESTlets of their own: Celigo’s integrator.io SuiteApp, for example, includes a Realtime Import Restlet Runner that handles imports and exports (Celigo Help Center, no date shown).

CSV imports

The CSV Import Assistant is included with NetSuite. It suits one-time migrations, monthly payroll journals, and bank or card data from systems without an API. It is batch-only, it is limited to 25,000 records per file, and it relies on a person or a scheduled script to run it. If you are moving off QuickBooks, our QuickBooks to NetSuite migration guide covers which data usually moves by CSV.

iPaaS: Celigo, Boomi and Workato

An integration platform as a service gives you a visual builder, prebuilt NetSuite adapters, error dashboards and retry handling. Each one sells differently.

  • Celigo installs a NetSuite SuiteApp, sells Standard, Professional and Enterprise editions, and does not publish prices (Celigo, Pricing, page modified October 28, 2026). Its licensing documentation lists 20 flows in every edition, 3 endpoints in Standard and Professional, unlimited endpoints in Enterprise, and monthly data ingestion of 500,000, 2.5 million and 5 million records respectively (Celigo Help Center, edition limits, no date shown). When NetSuite concurrency is exhausted, integrator.io retries about once per second for up to five minutes (Celigo, updated May 11, 2024). The limitation is that endpoint and flow caps can push a growing company into a higher edition.
  • Boomi is a general-purpose iPaaS with both a NetSuite connector and a NetSuite REST connector. The REST connector supports OAuth 2.0 and SuiteQL (Boomi Docs, NetSuite REST connector, updated August 31, 2026). Boomi publishes a pay-as-you-go plan at a flat $0.05 per message with unlimited connections, but support on that plan is Standard only and cannot be upgraded (Boomi Docs, Boomi Pay-As-You-Go, updated July 16, 2026). It suits companies that integrate many systems beyond NetSuite.
  • Workato documents a usage-based billing model and does not publish dollar prices (Workato Docs, Pricing, no date shown). Check which of its two NetSuite connectors your recipes use before the SOAP removal date.

Prebuilt connectors

A prebuilt connector handles one pairing, such as Shopify to NetSuite, with fixed field mappings and limited configuration. Oracle’s own NetSuite Connector supports Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Vendor Central, BigCommerce, eBay, Magento 2, ShipStation, Shopify, Shopify POS, Walmart and WooCommerce (Oracle, no date shown). Oracle does not publish its price. Celigo also sells prebuilt Integration Apps, which a certified Celigo partner notes are standalone products that are not part of the free trial plan (SixLakes Consulting, a Celigo partner, August 12, 2026). For light workflows, Zapier lists NetSuite as a premium app (Zapier, NetSuite integrations, no date shown).

What NetSuite integration costs

Most of the price in a NetSuite integration project is not published. Oracle does not list prices for NetSuite, SuiteCloud Plus or NetSuite Connector. Celigo and Workato quote privately. The published figures we could verify on November 3, 2026 are Boomi’s pay-as-you-go rate of $0.05 per message and Zapier’s paid plans, which start at $19.99 a month for Professional and $69 a month for Team, with premium apps such as NetSuite available only on paid plans (Zapier, Pricing, no date shown).

When you collect quotes, separate four lines: the platform or connector subscription, any SuiteCloud Plus licenses you need for concurrency, the build cost from a partner, and annual support or managed-service fees. Our list of NetSuite implementation partners is a starting point for build quotes. Ask each partner how many hours a year they budget for maintenance, because that number decides whether a cheap custom build stays cheap.

Illustrative worked example: sizing concurrency and message cost

The figures below are an illustration built from the published limits above, not data from a real company.

A distributor runs NetSuite on the Standard service tier with one SuiteCloud Plus license, which gives an account limit of 5 + 10 = 15 concurrent requests. It plans a Shopify order sync, a CRM sync and a nightly expense import.

  1. The admin reserves 6 concurrent requests for the Shopify sync, which peaks during promotions, and 4 for the CRM sync.
  2. That leaves 5 unallocated. Oracle keeps at least 1 unallocated for integrations without a defined limit, so the expense import and any ad hoc tools share the remaining 5.
  3. If the company ran these flows on Boomi pay-as-you-go and they generated 30,000 billable messages in a month, the platform charge would be 30,000 × $0.05 = $1,500 for that month. Confirm with Boomi how messages are counted first.
  4. If peak volume later needs 25 concurrent requests, the company would need a second SuiteCloud Plus license, which belongs in the integration budget.

Our independent take

No single option wins for every company. For a finance team without in-house developers, an iPaaS or a well-supported prebuilt connector is usually easier to keep running than a custom RESTlet, because the vendor absorbs NetSuite and source-app changes. Celigo is the most NetSuite-centered of the three platforms, while Boomi and Workato make more sense when NetSuite is one of many systems you connect.

Custom SuiteTalk REST or RESTlet work is the right call when you have a developer, a process no connector models well, or volume that would be expensive on per-message pricing. Whatever you choose, ask every vendor in writing whether its NetSuite adapter uses REST or SOAP, and get a migration date if the answer is SOAP.

Three buyer scenarios

A $20 million ecommerce brand on Shopify and Amazon. Order and inventory volume is high and the logic is standard. Start with NetSuite Connector or a Celigo Integration App, and compare quotes on the same order volume. Budget for a SuiteCloud Plus license if the account is on the Standard tier.

A SaaS company syncing Salesforce, a billing system and payroll. Three or more systems with custom fields point toward an iPaaS. Check Celigo’s endpoint cap against your system count, and compare it with Boomi or Workato if you also need integrations that do not touch NetSuite.

A manufacturer with a legacy SOAP integration to its MES. The integration works today but will stop with the 2028.2 release. Scope a rebuild on SuiteTalk REST or a RESTlet now, and treat it as a project with testing time, not a quick fix.

When you do not need dedicated integration software

You may not need an iPaaS or a connector subscription if your data moves once a month or less, as with a payroll journal or a bank statement file. A saved CSV import mapping, run by an admin, is enough. Exports from NetSuite to other tools can often run from a scheduled saved search emailed as a CSV; our NetSuite saved search guide shows how to build one.

You also may not need one if you have a single, low-volume workflow, such as creating a NetSuite customer when a form is submitted. A Zapier paid plan can cover that. Move to a dedicated platform when you add a second high-volume integration or failures start reaching the close.

How we researched this

We read Oracle’s NetSuite Help Center pages on concurrency governance, script usage limits, RESTlet governance, CSV imports, WSDL versioning and NetSuite Connector, and the vendor documentation and pricing pages for Celigo, Boomi, Workato and Zapier. We checked every page on November 3, 2026. We also reviewed the top-ranking guides for this topic, most of which are published by integration vendors or NetSuite consultants. We did not estimate prices that vendors do not publish.

Frequently asked questions

Is NetSuite SOAP being discontinued?

Yes. Oracle’s documentation says the 2025.2 SOAP endpoint is the last planned one, that only 2025.2 will be supported from the 2027.1 release, and that SOAP will no longer be available from the 2028.2 release.

What is the difference between SuiteTalk REST and a RESTlet?

SuiteTalk REST is Oracle’s standard API and needs no code inside NetSuite. A RESTlet is a custom SuiteScript endpoint you write and deploy yourself. Both count against the same account concurrency limit.

How many concurrent API calls does NetSuite allow?

It depends on your service tier and SuiteCloud Plus licenses. For contracts since June 2020, the base is 5 on Standard, 15 on Premium and 20 on Enterprise or Ultimate, plus 10 for each SuiteCloud Plus license. SOAP, REST and RESTlet requests share the limit.

How much does Celigo cost for NetSuite?

Celigo does not publish prices. It sells Standard, Professional and Enterprise editions by quote, and its documentation lists 20 flows per edition and 3 endpoints on Standard and Professional. Prebuilt Integration Apps are standalone products.

Can I integrate NetSuite with CSV imports instead of an API?

Yes, for batch data that moves daily or less often. The CSV Import Assistant is included with NetSuite and takes up to 25,000 records per file. Someone has to review errors after each import.

Does Zapier work with NetSuite?

Yes. Zapier lists NetSuite as a premium app, available only on paid plans, with triggers for new or updated records and saved searches. It suits low-volume workflows rather than order or inventory sync at scale.
