NetSuite Modules List: What Comes in the Base License and What Costs Extra

Last updated: November 3, 2026 · Independent guide · We do not sell rankings or coverage.

NetSuite ERP modules are the separately licensed functional areas that sit on top of the NetSuite core platform. Oracle says accounting, inventory management, order management and tax management come with the core platform, and that everything else is an optional module priced on top of the base license and users (Oracle NetSuite, April 13, 2026).

What a NetSuite module is

A NetSuite module is a set of features that you license on your NetSuite subscription. Oracle says modules must be licensed to enable their functionality but need no extra integration, unlike SuiteApps, which are installed separately (Oracle NetSuite, June 27, 2025). For Advanced Inventory Management, for example, an administrator turns the feature on under Setup > Company > Enable Features (Oracle NetSuite Help Center, no date shown).

Oracle says core financials such as the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management are “part of the suite; no additional modules are required.” It also says “all modules are optional,” can be licensed at any point in your contract, and carry different fees (Oracle NetSuite, June 27, 2025). Oracle does not publish a price for any module.

NetSuite modules list: base vs add-on

“Base” below means Oracle or two NetSuite partners, Rand Group and GSI, say the item comes with the core license. “Add-on” means a partner lists it as a paid extra, or Oracle lists it as an optional module and nobody we found says it is included. SuiteSuccess editions can bundle some add-ons, so check your order form.

Area Included in the base license Add-on modules (extra cost)
Financials General ledger, AP, AR, cash management, tax management, expense reporting Advanced Financials, Multi-Book Accounting, Fixed Assets Management, Revenue Management (ARM), SuiteBilling, Bill Capture, Payment Automation, Electronic Bank Payments, Dunning Letters, E-Invoicing, Planning and Budgeting and the other EPM products
OneWorld (multi-entity) None OneWorld for multiple subsidiaries, currencies, local tax and global business reporting
Inventory, order management and supply chain Basic inventory, order entry, purchasing Advanced Inventory Management, Smart Count, Advanced Order Management, Grid Order Management, Demand Planning, Warehouse Management System (WMS), Ship Central, Procurement and SuiteProcurement
Manufacturing None confirmed. GSI says Work Orders and Assemblies may be included in some editions Work Orders and Assemblies, Work in Process (WIP) and Routings, Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management
Professional services (PSA) Basic project management, per GSI SuiteProjects, Project Management, SuiteProjects Pro
Ecommerce None SuiteCommerce, SuiteCommerce Advanced, SuiteCommerce InStore (point of sale), SuiteCommerce MyAccount, NetSuite Connector
HCM Employee Center self-service, per GSI SuitePeople HR, Payroll, Performance Management, Workforce Management
CRM and analytics Basic CRM: quotes, marketing automation, customer service CPQ, Contract Renewals, Incentive Compensation, Field Service Management, NetSuite Analytics Warehouse

Sources for the table: module names from Oracle NetSuite (June 27, 2025); base and add-on status from Rand Group, a NetSuite Alliance Partner (updated July 29, 2026) and GSI, a NetSuite partner (August 10, 2026).

Example: a distributor’s module list

Illustration only, not a quote. A US wholesale distributor with 40 users, one warehouse and a new Canadian subsidiary runs order-to-cash and purchasing on the base license. It needs OneWorld for the Canadian entity and Advanced Inventory Management for lot tracking, because Oracle’s Help Center says enabling that module turns on lot tracking, serialized inventory, matrix items and multiple units of measure (Oracle NetSuite Help Center, no date shown).

If it adds SuitePeople Payroll, only the US staff are covered. Oracle says the product supports only US federal, state and local payroll taxes, and under OneWorld runs only for US subsidiaries with unique Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) (Oracle NetSuite Help Center, no date shown). The Canadian staff need a separate payroll product.

How modules work in practice

Each module adds a subscription line, and most add implementation hours for configuration, data and testing. Our NetSuite implementation cost guide for US companies shows how module scope moves the services bill. Revenue Management is a common example: our NetSuite revenue recognition guide covers what the ARM module adds over basic revenue recognition.

Your service tier sets separate maximums for users, file storage and monthly transaction lines. The Standard tier allows up to 100 users and 200,000 transaction lines a month (Oracle NetSuite Help Center, no date shown). Adding SuiteCommerce or WMS can push line counts up faster than headcount.

How we researched this

On November 3, 2026, we read Oracle’s NetSuite modules article, its licensing description and the Help Center pages on service tiers, Advanced Inventory Management and U.S. Payroll. Oracle does not mark modules as base or add-on, so we used the two partner pages that do and noted which partner supports each item.

Frequently asked questions

What modules come with the NetSuite base license?

Oracle confirms accounting, inventory management, order management and tax management in the core platform. NetSuite partners add purchasing, expense reporting, basic CRM, basic project management and Employee Center self-service. Advanced versions, such as Advanced Inventory Management and Advanced Order Management, are separate modules.

Is NetSuite OneWorld included in the base license?

No. Both partners we reviewed list OneWorld as a paid add-on. Oracle describes it as the module for companies with multinational and multi-subsidiary operations.

How much does a NetSuite module cost?

Oracle does not publish module prices and says fees vary by module. GSI notes that third-party sites list $99 to $999 per month for a single module, but calls that range practically useless for budgeting. Get a written quote with each module on its own line.

Can I add NetSuite modules later?

Yes. Oracle says you can license a module at any time during your contract.
