About Amazon VPC

Amazon Web Services Amazon Virtual Private Cloud Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is cloud infrastructure software that allows users to define an isolated section of their Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud for launching network resources, and provides users with virtual network control including IP address range, subnet creation, and route table and network gateway configuration. The platform enables users to create and implement public-facing subnets with internet access, as well as private-facing backend systems with no internet access.

The software allows users to set and define data access permissions, assign multiple IP addresses and attach multiple elastic network interfaces. Additionally, the platform allows users to enable both IPv4 and IPv6, create connections between VPC and onsite IT infrastructure via encryped VPN connections and allows users to connect to Amazon S3 without an internet gateway or NAT.

About the Company

Amazon Web Services was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
