You ask the questions, and our resident CRM guru shares her wisdom.
Q: “My company has decided that hosted CRM is the best option for us. What should I look for when choosing a service provider? “
A: When you opt for a hosted solution, as opposed to an on-premise one, you do minimize your IT burden quite a bit.
However, you also hand over the lion’s share of control over your valuable customer data. So, when choosing a service provider, data security and integrity are of the utmost importance. Losing this vital information, or even worse, having it fall into the wrong hands, could be detrimental to your business.
So, ask each provider you evaluate to provide details about their security measures, so you can feel comfortable that your data is not only secure from unauthorized access, but that your system is protected from outages and system failures as well.
Make sure the provider you choose offers:
* Advanced security techniques, such as support for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and data encryption
* Multi-level login authentication and password-protected system access
* 24 x 7 system monitoring
* Redundant servers
* Scheduled daily backups
