Darryl, I'd focus on Cloud based products that were licensed monthly. That lowers your cost to get in and reduces your need for internal IT support staff. You pay one monthly fee and it covers the software license, support, future releases and all software maintenance. Then what are the key functional areas. CRM, Inventory, Production, Purchasing, Financials. Most ERP packages have been kicking around for decades and have a lot of odd baggage they have accumulated. I'd look for a more modern package developed in the last decade or so. There are not many of those out there. I just happen to support one of them. SAP Business ByDesign. Your business is going to be a bit more difficult fit probably because it more process oriented as opposed to discrete manufacturing. You may have byproducts, co-products, yield issues, multiple ways to make the same things, lots of custom specifications. I've got an entire library of demos for different industries. I put a few on my website under the ERP demonstrations tab. This is just a few. If you like what you see get in touch with me and I'd be happy to discuss your needs further to see if we have a fit or I can lead you in the right direction.

Check out www.Pluss.net for their software can make the price for small business very reasonable and have free tech support along with their packages. They have a free 30 day trial with their software as well to try.
